Women’s XC finishes 27th at NCAA Great Lakes Regional

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Earlham College women's cross country team finished 27th out of 34 teams at the 2019 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Cross Country Championships, held Saturday at Calvin College.

The Quakers had 836 points.

Sophomore Shianna Bellingham was the top Earlham finisher in 155th place with a time of 25:05.3. The normally 6K course was shortened by approximately 400 meters due to course conditions.

Fourth-year junior Shabnam Fayyaz was 166th in the field of 233 runners with a time of 25:34.6, while first year Elena Stirn (170th, 25:47.8), junior Mairead Blatner (171st, 25:48.3), and sophomore Serena Pisacano (182nd, 26:06.8) rounded out the list of scoring runners for Earlham.

John Carroll University won the meet with 83 points, including three runners among the top 20. Trine's Evie Bultemeyer won the individual title in a time of 20:58.4. Hanover's Arig Tong was the top Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference runner in 11th place with a time of 21:47.0.
