RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's tennis team hosts Thomas More College in the season finale at the EC Tennis Courts on Wednesday. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
The Teams: Earlham and Thomas More. The Quakers recently rounded out the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) portion of their schedule with a loss to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology last Saturday. The Saints are 9-2 overall, but fell at Washington & Jefferson College on Oct. 9
The Coaches: Earlham is under the direction of first-year head coach Shawn Hyden. A graduate of the University of Mount Union, Hyden comes to Earlham from Arcadia University (Pa.) where he spent the last three years as head men's and women's tennis coach. At Arcadia, Hyden led the men's team to a berth in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Tournament Championship match. Chris Eilerman, a 1995 graduate of Thomas More, enters his third season as head women's tennis coach at his alma mater.
The Players: Sophomore Robyn Thomas leads the Quakers with three singles victories. Junior Kaitlin Morgan and sophomore Chloe Culler have also won singles matches for the Quakers. Brooke Warden is 12-1 in singles play including a perfect 11-0 at first singles in dual matches for the Saints.
