Women's Tennis Shows Improvement in Loss to Transylvania


RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's tennis team won games in all three doubles matches in a 9-0 defeat at the hands of Transylvania University in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) action on Wednesday.

Junior Kaitlin Morgan and sophomore Chloe Culler fell to Lucy Herrington and Mary Grace Amato 8-2 at second doubles. Junior Arrita Domi and sophomore Lexi Aligarbes as well as sophomores Wei-Yung Liu and Megan Howell both lost 8-1 at first and third doubles respectively.

In singles both junior Ziqi Wang and sophomore Robyn Thomas both won five games in 7-5 first-set losses at fifth and sixth singles respectively. Wang followed up her first set loss with a 6-3 second-set loss to Kearstin Bruther. Domi and Aligarbes also won games at first and third singles respectively.

Transylvania (4-1, 3-1 HCAC) won second and fourth singles 6-0, 6-0.

The Quakers have a week off and will travel to Defiance College on Wednesday, Sept. 28. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
