RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's tennis team continues its non-conference schedule with a 5 p.m. match at Berea College on Tuesday.
The Teams: Earlham and Berea. The Quakers stand at 0-3 on the season after falling to Ohio Wesleyan University and Indiana University East in a tri-match on Saturday. The Mountaineers have yet to play a match this season and finished last year 6-10.
The Coaches: Earlham is under the direction of first-year head coach Shawn Hyden. A graduate of the University of Mount Union, Hyden comes to Earlham from Arcadia University (Pa.) where he spent the last three years as head men's and women's tennis coach. At Arcadia, Hyden led the men's team to a berth in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Tournament Championship match. Johann St. John is in his first year as head women's tennis coach at Berea.
The Players: Juniors Lexi Aligarbes and Arrita Domi lead Earlham's returners. Domi has played first singles and first doubles through three matches this season while Aligarbes has played second doubles and primarily second singles. Trinity Goodman and Taylor Moyers are Berea's two seniors on the roster.
Series History: Earlham hosted Berea last season at the EC Tennis Courts on Sept. 26. The Mountaineers came away with a 6-3 victory. The Quakers won second, fourth, and sixth singles in the match.
Up Next: Earlham faces Adrian College in a tri-match at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
