RICHMOND, Ind.-Earlham's offense shined in a 4-0 win at MacMurray.
The Quakers played a complete game outshining the Highlanders on both offense and defense. Earlham had 18 attacks on the goal, 10 in the first half and eight in the second. They spent most of the match in MacMurray territory whose defense had difficulty keeping up as evidenced by Earlham's five corner kicks.
Defensively Earlham effectively shut out any attempt the highlanders had at the goal. The Quakers held MacMurray to four shots throughout the game, and only two of them reached the goal.
Each of Earlham's four were scored in the first half. The first two were scored by Nicole Burkett in minutes 26 and 27. Abby McCullough was next person to take advantage of scoring potential with a goal in the 35th minute, and finally Hannah Wallhausser scored the final goal of the match right before halftime at minute 44.
Burkett is the team leader in goals with five, followed by McCullough who has four. This win improves the Quakers to 6-3 on the season. Their next competition is on Saturday, September 29 at 1:00pm against Mount. St. Joseph, which will begin their conference play.
