RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's basketball team travels to Transylvania University for a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) contest on Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The Teams: Earlham and Transylvania. The Quakers are looking snap a two-game losing streak after falling 61-55 at Manchester University on Saturday. The Pioneers are 13-4 overall, but had their eight-game winning streak broken with a 76-71 loss at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday.
The Coaches: Earlham is under the direction of interim head coach Kevin Hayden. A Ball State University alumnus, Hayden served as an assistant men's basketball coach for the previous two seasons along with his duties as assistant to the director of athletics. Juli Fulks, who graduate from Capital University, is in her third season as head coach at Transylvania after spending nearly a decade at Lewis & Clark University (Oregon).
The Players: Senior Hannah Franklin leads Earlham in scoring at 11.6 points per game while also helping others score, dishing out nearly three assists per contest. Freshman Shannon Pittman is second on the team in scoring at 9.3 points per game while freshman Camryn White and junior Mariah Flynn combine to score over 12 points per game. Celia Kline (15.6 PPG) and Rachel Cox (13.2 PPG) are the two Pioneers who average double figures in scoring. Cox leads Transylvania in rebounding at 7.6 boards per contest.
