RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's basketball team looks for its first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) victory when the Quakers host Manchester University for a 2 p.m. contest Sunday at Schuckman Court.
The Teams: Earlham and Manchester. The Quakers nearly notched their first victory over Franklin College since the 1999-00 season on Saturday, but ultimately fell 60-56 on the road. The Spartans earned their first win of the season last Saturday, defeating Mount St. Joseph University 57-48.
The Coaches: Janel Iden is his her fifth season with the Earlham women's basketball program including her second as head coach. She previously served the program as acting head coach for the 2014-15 season and an assistant coach for the two years prior. Before arriving at Earlham, Iden spent three years as an assistant coach at Mount Union. The Purple Raiders went 80-11 and appeared in three NCAA Division III Tournaments during that time. Josh Dzurick is in his 13th season on the Manchester sideline including his 12th leading the program.
The Players: Senior Hannah Franklin (14.3 PPG) and freshman Shannon Pittman (10.6 PPG) leading Earlham in scoring as both average double figures in scoring. Senior Maya Luney leads the squad in rebounding at 5.8 points per game while senior Shania Feathers tallied a career-high nine rebounds in the Quakers' loss to Franklin. Samantha Bolen and Nicole Weaver combine to average 17.6 points per game to lead the Spartans' offensively. Four Manchester players grab over four rebounds per game.

2015-16 Matchups: Manchester won both meetings last season, defeating Earlham 69-64 at home and 75-60 on the road. The Spartans shot over 55 percent from three-point range in both games.
Recent History: Earlham is 2-10 against Manchester since joining the HCAC prior to the 2010-11 season. The Quakers' last win over the Spartans was an 81-70 triumph on the road on Jan. 25, 2014.
