RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College track and field team continues its outdoor season at the Franklin Invitational on Saturday.
The Meet: Field event are scheduled to begin at noon followed by track events at approximately 1:30 p.m.
The Coaches: Earlham is led by a pair of first-year, co-head coaches. Claire Hewitt comes to Earlham from the University of Pennsylvania where she served as an assistant women's cross country coach while her husband Rob had been a high school cross country and track & field coach at national powerhouse Germantown Friends High School (Pa.) since 2004.
Women to Watch: Junior Annalee Wilson, who broke her own indoor pole vault program-best mark with a jump of 10' 1 ½" at Wooster last weekend, hopes to compete outdoors at Franklin at noon on Saturday. Senior Sophia Richard will throw in both the javelin and discus. Sophomore Rachel Wilkins, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's current leading in the 1,500-meter run, is scheduled to race in the 800-meter run, the 3,000-meter run, and as a member of the Quakers' 4-x-400-meter relay squad.
Men's To Watch: Four Quakers will compete in the long jump while freshman JP Dongo will throw in the discus. Junior Xavier Flores is scheduled to throw in the javelin. Senior Gabriel Penk, an All-HCAC selection in cross country in the fall, headlines the track event participants as he will run in the 800-meter dash, the 1,500-meter run, and as a part of Earlham's 4-x-400-meter dash.
