WOOSTER, Ohio – The Earlham College track & field team recorded 10 top eight finishes at the Wooster Invitational hosted by the College of Wooster on Friday and Saturday.
Sophomore Rachel Wilkins finished sixth in the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:27.87. She followed up that performance with personal best in the 1,500-meter run by over 18 seconds. Wilkins placed fifth in the event, crossing the finish line in 4:59.69.
Senior Hannah Franklin placed fourth in the Women's 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.88, finishing just sixth tenths of a second behind Antonia Piazza of John Carroll University. Franklin also placed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a race of 1:10.61.
Junior Annalee Wilson finished eighth in the women's pole vault, clearing 10' 1 ½" to break her own indoor school record (pole vault took place indoors due to weather). Abbey Eisenbrown of the University of Mount Union was the top NCAA Division III finisher with a vault of 11' 1".
Wilson also teamed up with Franklin, Richard, and senior Lydia Harvey for a sixth place finish in the women's 4-x-100-meter relay.
On the men's side, junior Marcaus Cooper finished fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 40' 6 ¾". Cooper also joined seniors Akul Sharma, Kamari Hunter, and LeAundre' Knight to form the Quakers' 4-x-100-meter relay team that finished in sixth place with a time of 49.80.
As a team, the women finished in eighth place and the men concluded the meet in 11th place.
The Quakers take the track next at the Franklin Invitational hosted by Franklin College at 11 a.m. next Saturday.
