RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College junior Noah Scherf, a member of the Quakers' cross country and track and field teams, is one of 63 athletes that were selected and are participating for the United States team for the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships.
The 2019 World Para Athletics Championships will be held November 7-15, 2019, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and will be the last major opportunity for athletes to earn slots for the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
Scherf will be competing in the men's T13 5000m run, the same event in which he competed earlier this year at the 2019 Parapan American Games in Lima, Peru, where he placed fourth with a time of 15:44.48. His personal best is 15:11.47. Scherf is the only American in his race and will be starting in the eighth spot with BIB number 1321.
