POWELL, Ohio – Junior Noah Scherf finished eighth out of 129 finishers at Saturday's Ohio Wesleyan Invitational men's 8K, held Saturday at Liberty Park.
Scherf recorded a time of 26:54.5 in his first meet of the fall, after competing for Team USA at the Parapan American Games in Lima, Peru, in late August.
Scherf was one of four Earlham runners to finish among the top 20.
Sophomore Austin Burt (27:29.6) was 18th, followed by sophomore Cade Orchard (27:30.5) and junior Bineyam Tumbo (27:31.9) in 19th and 20th place respectively. Junior Israel Ramos (28:02.6) was Earlham's final scoring runner in 37th place overall, 34th in points.
The Quakers finished fourth out of 11 teams in the meet with 99 points, just seven points off the pace set by third-place Wilmington College. Ohio Northern won the meet with 51 points and three runners among the top 10 individuals.
Earlham cross country is idle next week but returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Greater Louisville Classic.
