RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College sophomore Austin Burt (Warrensburg, Mo./Warrensburg) was selected as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, for his efforts at Friday's Wilmington College Quaker Challenge XC Invitational.
Burt clocked a time of 16:12.7 in the 5K event, finishing fourth overall. That time was over a one-minute improvement over the time he posted in his only 5K race during 2018 as a freshman.
Burt led Earlham to a third-place finish out of seven teams at the Quaker Challenge with 89 points.
Earlham men's cross country is idle this week, and returns to competition on Saturday, Sept. 14, when it runs at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational in Delaware, Ohio.
