Papachristos named HCAC Outdoor T&F Men's Freshman of the Year

RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College first year Nate Papachristos was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Men's Freshman of the Year, and two other Quaker men's track and field performers were named to the All-HCAC teams, when the conference post-season honors were announced Thursday.

Ian Shriner was a Second Team All-HCAC honoree while Emanuel Faria was an Honorable Mention selection. Luke Brake was named to the HCAC Sportsmanship Team for the meet.

Papachristos, who was also a First Team All-HCAC performer, won the 800m run with a time of 1:56.68, while Shriner was second (1:59.71) and Faria (1:59.80) was third.

Papachristos also finished third in the 1500m run (4:06.49).

Earlham men's track and field finished sixth out of 10 teams at the 2018 HCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the Quakers' best finish since 2012. The Quakers tallied 46 points, trailing fifth-place Bluffton by 9.5 points.
