Men’s tennis wins fourth straight with victory over Defiance

RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College men's tennis picked up its fourth straight victory and improved to 11-7 on the season with a 9-0 win over visiting Defiance College, Wednesday afternoon at the EC Tennis Courts.

The Quakers improved to 3-1 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference with their victory over the Yellow Jackets, at the halfway point of the conference slate.


With only five players available for the match against Earlham, Defiance was forced to forfeit the matches at no. 3 doubles and no. 6 singles. The Quakers claimed the two doubles matches by 8-0 scores, giving Earlham a 4-0 lead heading into singles.

Earlham won all five singles matches in straight sets, including 6-0, 6-0 victories for Adarsh Singh at no. 4 singles and Elijah Sadler at no. 5 singles.


Earlham men's tennis is idle from competition until Saturday, April 20, when the Quakers will host both Anderson University and Mount St. Joseph in a pair of HCAC matches.
