RICHMOND, Ind. - The Earlham Colleg men's soccer team looks to bounce back after consecutive losses when the Quakers travel to the College of Wooster for a 2 p.m. contest on Saturday.
The Teams: Earlham and Wooster. Earlham goes into Saturday with a record of 2-3 after a 3-1 loss at mory & Henry University and a 5-0 loss Ferrum College. Wooster has a record of 2-3 after losing a game to Marietta 2-1 in overtime.
The Coaches: Sam Byrd enters his second season as head men's soccer coach at his alma mater. The 2003 alumnus served as an assistant coach for longtime head coach Roy Messer for two seasons prior to being promoted to head coach in May of 2015. Andy Zidron has served as Wooster's men's head soccer coach for the past two years. Prior to Wooster, he was a part of Denison's coaching staff for 14 years, compiling an overall record of 154-96-24.
The Players: Senior Bret Marshall, freshman Micah Roland, and junior Nicholas Dey have scored Earlham's three goals this season. Junior Aiden Klemmer has the squad's only assist while sophomore goalkeeper Nicola Manni has posted two shutouts. Freshman Max Rochester is Wooster's leading scorer with two goals.
Recent History: In the past five seasons, Earlham has lost close games to Wooster with goal totals staying under two. The Quakers looks to bounce back from the tough loses the past weekend to beat Wooster for the first time in five seasons.
