RICHMOND, Indiana - The Earlham College men's basketball team is hosting North Park University in a hurricane relief exhibition game at Schuckman Court on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
All proceeds will go toward the American Red Cross - Hurricane Maria Relief Support Sector. In adidtion, the men's basketball program has pledged $1 to the American Red Cross for every person in attendance.
"Sometimes we forget how lucky we are," Head Men's Basketball Coach Jason Polykoff said. "What has happened in Puerto Rico is devastating, and this is our way of doing our part to help."
The men's basketball program also pioneered the athletics department gathering and sending clothes to send to Houston, Texas, for Hurricane Irma relief last month.
Admission to the event is free, but fans are encouraged to purchase refreshments at the concessions stand, participate in the 50-50 raffle and enjoy the half-court challenge at halftime.
