RICHMOND, Indiana - The Earlham College field hockey program continues to academically excel as the Quakers finished in the top five of all NCAA Division III field hockey programs in team grade-point average for the second consecutive year.
As a team, the Quakers tallied a 3.65 grade-point average. Only three other schools in all of NCAA Division III, Swarthmore College (Pennsylvania), Mount Holyoke College (Massachusetts), and Springfield College (Maryland) finished with team GPAs higher than Earlham.
In addition, the program earned the Division III National Team Academic Award, handed out by the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA).
Earlham concluded its 2016 season with a 6-13 overall record and a 3-11 mark in North Coast Athletic Conference play. The win total marks the highest for the Quakers since the 2008 season.
