RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College field hockey team travels to Ohio Wesleyan University (OWU) for a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) contest at Selby Stadium on Saturday. The game is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
The Teams: Earlham and Ohio Wesleyan. The Quakers are 5-7 overall and 2-5 in NCAC play after falling at DePauw University 4-0 last week. The Bishops are 4-7 overall and also 2-5 in NCAC play. They previously lost to Concordia University Wisconsin and DePauw last weekend.
The Coaches: Heather Moore enters her fourth year as Earlham's head coach. She led the Quakers to their best finish since 2009 in 2015 as well as a come-from-behind, overtime win over the College of Wooster for the first time since 1993. Brenda Semit is in her second season as head field hockey coach at OWU.
The Players: Senior Megan Hut and sophomore Maite Turlings led Earlham in scoring with five and four goals respectively. The two have also dished out at least two assists. Freshman goalkeeper Camille van der Vaart averages seven saves per game while sophomore Natalie Blatz has a team-high five defensive saves. Ashley Barno leads the Bishops with seven goals this year.
Recent History: Earlham has not beaten Ohio Wesleyan in six years. In the beginning of the season Earlham lost to Ohio Wesleyan 6-0.
