Field Hockey Drops Conference Contest to DePauw

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Earlham College field hockey team lost 4-0 to DePauw University during a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) contest at Darrell Beane Stadium on Tuesday.

In the first half, Kate Milner landed the first goal for the Tigers at the 15 minute mark with an assist from Maddy Burds. Two minutes later, Riley Bruce found the back of the net assisted by Addie Ball to double the Tigers' lead. Freshman goalkeeper Camille van der Vaart kept the game close making seven saves in the first half.

Leading 2-0, Grace Walman put the Tigers up 3-0 ten minutes into the second half. At the 56:23 minute mark, Gretchen Bechthold netted the game's final goal.

DePauw held a significant edge in shots as it fired 21 in the first half and 17 in the second while Earlham managed one shot in each half. Van der Vaart finished with 17 saves in the game.

Earlham will return to action on Saturday at Ohio Wesleyan at 11 a.m.
