OBERLIN, Ohio – Junior forward Megan Hut scored two goals to lead the Earlham College field hockey team to a 2-1 win at Oberlin in North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) competition on Saturday.
The Tiel, Netherlands, native scored in the ninth minute off of an assist from freshman Maite Turlings.
The Yeo, however, answered as Maureen Coffey beat the Quakers' senior goalkeeper Kate Korobkina in the 17th minute to level the game 1-1.
Hut scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 42nd minute as Hut used a pass from Kaitlyn Brunner to beat Oberlin net minder Maggie Gossiaux. The Yeo held an 18-12 advantage in shots, but would only beat Korokina once.
Korobkina earned her fourth victory of the season allowing just one goal and making 10 saves in 70 minutes of action.
Earlham snapped a seven-losing streak with the victory and stands at 4-9 on the season. The Quakers return home for their final four home games, beginning with a game against Denison on Oct. 24.
