RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College football team opens Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play at Anderson University on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
The Teams: Earlham and Anderson. The Quakers are in search of a victory after falling 65-41 at Hiram College last weekend. The Ravens are also winless after falling 61-10 at Centre College on Saturday.
The Coaches: Nick Johnson enters his third year as Earlham's head football coach. The HCAC Coach of the Year in 2015, Johnson played football for the Quakers from 1997-01 and later served the program as defensive coordinator from 2007-12. He also held the position of head track and field coach for 12 seasons. John Sala enters his third year as Anderson's head football coach.
The Offense: Senior Wesley Hundley has accounted for 609 of 706 yards (86 percent) of the Quakers' offense through two games this season while leading the team in passing and rushing. Senior wide receiver Marcaus Cooper as hauled in 14 receptions for 205 yards and three touchdowns. Blake Levy is one of several quarterbacks to have seen play for the Ravens as he's thrown for 236 yards and a touchdown.
The Defense: Junior Joe Enwright, who played with the offensive unit his first two years, leads the team in tackling with 21 total tackles including 10 total tackles. Sophomore Dan O'Donnell leads the team with 13 solo tackles while sophomore R.J. Scott and Joel Dominguez have recorded the Quakers' two sacks. Five Ravens have tallied double digits with Wyatt Schebler and Drew Wilson have had 14 tackles each.
HCAC Player of the Week Honors: Wesley Hundley is the reigning HCAC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance at Hiram last Saturday.
Recent History: Earlham is 2-5 against Anderson since joining the HCAC prior to the 2010 season. The Quakers' last victory came in a 21-20 triumph at Darrell Beane Stadium on Oct. 26 of 2013.
