NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Manchester University scored 21 first quarter points in a 65-13 victory over the Earlham College football team in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) action on Saturday.
The Spartans (1-7, 1-5 HCAC) scored three rushing touchdowns in the first quarter along with five more rushing touchdowns in the final three quarters. Earlham's two touchdowns came courtesy of Wesley Hundley, a four-yard run in the second quarter and a 69-yard place to senior Alec Dews with 1:15 to play in regulation.
Manchester finished with 450 yards rushing on 59 attempts for an average of 7.9 yards per carry. Earlham had 320 yards of total offense including 268 through the air.
Donovan Henderson, Jr. finished with three touchdowns on 13 carries. Lucas Lorian and Brenner Cruce rushed for over 100 yards each.
Earlham hosts Bluffton University for senior day on Nov. 5 before traveling to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to end the season on Nov. 12.
