RICHMOND, Ind. – Mount St. Joseph University (MSJ) scored 34 second quarter points on the way to a 61-7 win over the Earlham College football team in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play at Darrell Beane Stadium on Saturday.
The Lions scored on six of seven first-half drives including all four drives in the second quarter. The Quakers did score their one touchdown in the second quarter when junior Wesley Hundley scampered in from three yards out. The touchdown capped a 12-play, 67-yard drive.
Mount St. Joseph scored a single touchdown in the third and fourth quarters while holding Earlham scoreless in the second half.
Reigning HCAC Offensive Player of the Week Chaiten Tomlin threw for 256 yards and five touchdowns for the Lions. Garrett Weaver caught five passes for 103 yards and four scores.
Hundley accumulated 98 total yards including 42 rushing, 28 receiving, and 28 passing. Sophomore Treylon Anderson threw for 71 yards.
In total, MSJ racked up 559 yards of offense while holding Earlham to 147 total yards. The Quakers had three turnovers on the afternoon while the Lions had zero.
Earlham continues HCAC play at Hanover College next Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
