GREENWOOD, Ind. – Earlham College football freshman punter Jordan Christian has been named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Special Teams Player of the Week in a release by the conference on Monday.
In the second quarter of the Quakers' 31-14 loss to Anderson University on Saturday, Christian boomed an 83-yard punt, breaking the old program record of 79 yards by Sam Hogenaur during the 1967 season. The record was Earlham football's longest-standing individual game record.
Christian finished the afternoon with three punts for 146 yards and an average of 48.7 yards per punt.
Earlham has its bye week before facing Defiance College at Darrell Beane Stadium on Oct. 1.
