Quakers Fall to Nationally-Ranked Franklin
FRANKLIN, Ind. — The Earlham College football team played its first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference road game on Saturday at Franklin College.

The Grizzlies (2-2, 2-0), ranked 25th in the latest D3football.com national poll, won 70-20.

Earlham was able to find the end zone three times late in the contest.

The first score came on a 13-yard touchdown pass from Matt Couch (Versailles, KY, Woodford County) to Marcus Coby (Coral Springs, FL, Heritage) with 2:27 left in the third period.

Tre Stephens (Terre Haute, IN, South) scored Earlham's next touchdown on a 9-yard run at the 8:39 mark of the final stanza.

On the last play of the contest, Couch scored on a 1-yard run for Earlham's final touchdown.

Earlham starting quarterback Alonzo Genelin (Arcadia, WI, Arcadia) was 13-of-23 for 132 yards, while Couch finished by going 12-of-18 for 146 yards and the one touchdown.

Coby led the Quakers with 10 catches for 141 yards. Jalen Kenner (Reserve, LA, East St. John) had five grabs for 29 yards and Andy Cain (Hamilton, OH, Hamilton) had four receptions for 46 yards.

Defensively, D'Hari Curtis-Webster (Pittsburg, CA, Pittsburg) led the Quakers with eight tackles. Dakota McElley (Lawrenceburg, IN, Lawrenceburg), Kaleb Lingg (Dayton, OH, Northridge) and Terrell Scott (Lomita, CA, Narponne) had six stops each.

Earlham (0-4, 0-2) returns to Darrell Beane Stadium next Saturday to face HCAC foe Defiance College at 2 p.m.
