Volleyball Hosts St. Mary-Woods in Non-Conference Match on Monday

RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College volleyball team steps out of Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play for a non-conference match with Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) on Monday. First serve from Roy Schuckman Court is slated for 7 p.m.

The Teams: Earlham and SMWC. The Quakers are 14-8 overall and looking to snap a 2-match losing streak after falling to Transylvania University 3-1 and Mount St. Joseph University 3-2 on Saturday. The Pomeroys are 8-11 and have lost their last four matches.

The Coaches: Lauren Horton enters her fourth year at Earlham and third season leading the volleyball program. The IU-East alumna was a four-year starting setter for the Red Wolves and a three-time All-American. She holds the distinction of being the NAIA's all-time assists leader for the rally-scoring era. Stephen Beller, the only head volleyball coach in SMWC history, is in his fourth year leading the program.

The Players: Junior Ashleigh Burton and Julia Stewart both average 3.50 kills per set to lead the Quakers' offense. Along with freshman Carly Federinko, the three all average nearly a .220 attack percentage. Sophomore Setter Lauren Jackson dishes out over 10 assists per set while junior libero Megan Hedinger notches over five digs per set. The Pomeroy Duo of McKenzi Kumpf and Monica Mack combine for 408 kills with accounts for 56 percent of SMWC's offense.

Recent History: Earlham is 1-0 all-time against SMWC with the only meeting being a 3-1 win in West Terre Haute last year.

NCAA Statistics Leader: Setter Lauren Jackson in 19th in all of NCAA Division III volleyball in assists pet set.

Record Start: Earlham is off to a 14-8 start to the season, the program's best since the 2007. The Quakers have not won 15 games since the 1992 campaign.
