Volleyball Picks Up Four-Set Win at Pitt.-Greensburg

GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania – Freshman Julia Stewart finished with a career-high 20 kills and a .500 attack percentage in leading the Earlham College volleyball team to a 3-1 (19-25, 25-17, 28-26, 25-15) over the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg (Pitt.-Greensburg) on Sunday afternoon.

Stewart turned in the best offensive performance of her collegiate career with the 20 kills and .500 attack percentage. Fellow freshman Carly Federinko tallied 13 kills while sophomore Shannon Pittman and freshman Rafaella Shima both had eight kills.

Junior setter Lauren Jackson dished out 50 assists for an average of 12.50 per set while junior Megan Hedinger and sophomore Angelica Carpio both eclipsed the 20-dig plateau.

As a team, Earlham recorded 15 service aces and held Pitt.-Greensburg to a .139 attack percentage with six team blocks.

Amanda Ross led the way for the Bobcats with 11 kills and a .321 attack percentage. Eric Bosh dished out 30 assists.

Earlham (8-4) will travel to Louisville, Kentucky, for a tri-match with Boyce College and Crowley Ridge College next weekend.
