Women's Tennis Hosts Indiana Tech for Senior Day

RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College women's tennis team will host Indiana Tech this Monday for its Senior Day. The match is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.

The Teams: Earlham and Indiana Tech. Earlham finished their Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play this Saturday against Rose-Hulman. They finished the season 2-5 in conference play, which was good enough to earn the sixth seed in the HCAC Tournament. This will be the first appearance from the Quakers since joining the conference. NAIA opponent, Indiana Tech, is 1-4 on the season, but won their most recent matchup against Goshen College.

The Coaches: Shawn Hyden enters his second season as the head women's tennis coach at Earlham. In his first season with the program, Hyden led the men's team to the HCAC Tournament finals for the first time since the 2014-2015 season. This season Hyden led the women's team to its best start since the 2010-2011 season. Brandt Danals is in his third season as the Warriors head coach.

The Players:  Seniors Arrita Domi, Lexi Aligarbes and Kaitlin Morgan have been staples in the starting lineup for the Quakers. This year has been the most successful season of their careers with six team wins. Domi has three wins on the season playing the first singles position and two doubles wins playing first and third. Aligarbes picked up her first career win this season and has built on it. She has a combined five total wins. Morgan has played first doubles the entire season. She also has two singles wins.

Senior Day: Four seniors, Domi, Algarbes, Morgan and Ziqi Wang will be playing in the final home matches of their careers on Monday.

The History: Last year the Quakers were defeated by the Warriors 8-1.
