LEXINGTON, Kentucky – The Earlham College women's tennis team fell 8-1 to Transylvania University in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) action on Thursday evening.
The Pioneers (5-6, 3-3 HCAC) won all three doubles flights including triumphing 8-2 at both first and third doubles. The Quakers were competitive at second doubles, but ultimately junior Yunjoo Shin and freshman Alexandra Canaday fell 8-6 to Kristina Frazee and Lucy Herrington.
Shin provided Earlham's lone flight win as she dispatched Merrick Irwin 6-2, 6-2 at second singles. Transylvania won the remaining five singles flights surrendering now more than three games in any match.
Earlham (6-6, 2-4 HCAC) concludes its HCAC season at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday. First serve is slated for 11 a.m.
