CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Earlham College women's tennis team picked up its sixth win of the season with an 8-1 win over Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) opponent Mount St. Joseph College this Wednesday.
Earlham started off strong taking two out of three doubles against the Lions. Freshman Alexandra Canaday and junior Yunjoo Shin continued their dominance at second doubles, taking the match 8-1. Freshman Kathryn Hulleman and senior Lexi Aligarbes paired together for the first time this season at third doubles. They immediately clicked and won the match 8-2.
The Quakers rode the momentum into singles and swept all six spots. Senior Arrita Domi picked up a hard fought three set win at first singles, 6-0, 2-6, 6-2. Senior Kaitlin Morgan picked up her second win of the season with a strong 6-3, 7-5 victory at third singles. Canaday, Hulleman, Shin and Aligarbes all won their matches in straight sets, dropping no more than three games per set.
Earlham is now 6-5 on the season and 2-3 in HCAC play. The Quakers will continue conference play tomorrow (Thursday) against Transylvania University in a match slated to begin at 3 p.m.
