RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's tennis team continues Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play this Wednesday when the Quakers host Franklin College for a noon match on Saturday.
The Teams: Earlham and Franklin. The Quakers enter the match with a 5-4 record and a 1-2 mark in HCAC play after a thrilling 5-4 come-from-behind win at Defiance College on Wednesday.
The Coaches: Shawn Hyden enters his second season as the head women's tennis coach at Earlham. In his first season with the program, Hyden led the men's team to the HCAC Tournament finals for the first time since the 2014-2015 season. Rusty Hughes has been the head women's tennis coach at Franklin since the 1988 season.
The Players: The doubles pairing of junior Yunjoo Shin and freshman Alexandra Canaday have been the most successful pairing for the Quakers, going 5-1 on the season and currently riding a 4-match winning streak. Shin is also the most successful singles player with an overall record of 8-1. Senior Arrita Domi has two wins on the season, which is the most since her freshman campaign.
The History: Franklin swept Earlham 9-0 last season.
