RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College women's tennis team will travel to Manchester University for the Heartland Collegaite Athletic Conference (HCAC) opener this Saturday. The match will start at noon.
The Teams: Earlham and Manchester. The Quakers are off to a 3-2 start, but they are still seeking their first win in conference play. Last season, Manchester finished third in the HCAC.
The Coaches: Shawn Hyden enters his second season as the head women's tennis coach at Earlham. In his first season with the program, Hyden led the men's team to the HCAC Tournament finals for the first time since the 2014-2015 season. This season Hyden led the women's team to its best start since the 2012-2013 season.
The Players: In doubles play, junior Yunjoo Shin and freshman Alexandra Canaday lead the team with two victories as partners. Shin also leads the team with four singles victories. Last Tuesday, senior Kaitlin Morgan picked up her first win of the season at second singles.
The History: Manchester defeated Earlham 9-0 in the fall of 2016.
