RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's tennis team will travel to Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio this Tuesday. The match will begin at approximately 6 p.m.
The Teams: Earlham and Muskingum. Earlham stands at 2-2, coming off a loss to conference rival Hanover. The Quakers are off to their best start since the 2013-2014 season. Muskingum is 0-2 on the season.
The Coaches: Shawn Hyden enters his second season as the head women's tennis coach at Earlham. In his first season with the program, Hyden led the men's team to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament finals for the first time since the 2014-2015 season. This season Hyden led the women's team to its first victory since the 2014-2015 season. Mary Beth Caudill is the coach of Muskingum and also serves as the head women's soccer coach.
The Players: Junior Yunjoo Shin leads the Quakers in singles play with three wins. Senior Arrita Domi and freshman Alexandra Canaday are tied for the most doubles wins on the season with two a piece. Seniors Lexi Aligarbes and Kaitlin Morgan will look to pick up their first wins of the season this Tuesday.
The History: This will be the first meeting between the two teams in recent history.
