RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's tennis team continues Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play with a 4:30 p.m. match at Anderson University on Monday.
The Teams: Earlham and Anderson. The Quakers are in search of their first win after falling to Franklin College 9-0 on Saturday. The Ravens are 2-4 this season and recently beat Transylvania University 6-3.
The Coaches: Earlham is under the direction of first-year head coach Shawn Hyden. A graduate of the University of Mount Union, Hyden comes to Earlham from Arcadia University (Pa.) where he spent the last three years as head men's and women's tennis coach. At Arcadia, Hyden led the men's team to a berth in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Tournament Championship match. The Ravens are currently being coached by Michaela Hammel.
The Players: Sophomore Robyn Thomas leads the Quakers with three singles victories. Junior Kaitlin Morgan and sophomore Chloe Culler have also won singles matches for the Quakers. Megan Moriarty leads the Ravens with three singles victories.
Recent History: Earlham has not beaten Anderson since joining the HCAC prior to the 2010 season.
