FRANKLIN, Ind. -- Earlham College sophomore Hannah Toresdahl was tied for 38th on the individual leaderboard to lead the Quakers after the first round of the Franklin College Lady Grizzly Spring Invitational, held Saturday at The Legends Golf Club.
Toresdahl fired a 97 (+25) on the challenging par 72, 5,809-yard Legends Golf Club course, which saw only one score under 80 over the entire round.
Franklin College's Keely Townsend was the tournament's individual leader with a one-over 73, and she had a seven-stroke lead over teammate Megg Hensler (80, +8) in second place.
The Quakers finished the day ninth out of nine teams in the event with a 421 (+133). Franklin College was atop the team leaderboard with a 330 (+42) and a six-stroke lead over Transylvania at 336 (+48).
The Lady Grizzly Spring Invitational continues on Sunday with a second round of 18 holes at The Legends Golf Club.
