RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College women's golf team heads to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championship this weekend hosted by Transylvania University.
The Invitational: The two-day tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. The winner will receive qualification to the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, on May 8-11, 2018.
The Teams: Earlham will be joined by each HCAC institution that sponsors women's golf (all HCAC member institutions with the exception of Anderson University).
The Course: Both rounds of the two-day tournament will be played at Keene Run Golf Course. The course will play with a par of 73 and at 5,801 yards.
The Coach: Earlham is under the direction of second-year head coach Matt Gehring. A graduate of Defiance College, Gehring spent the previous four seasons as head women's golf coach and assistant men's golf coach at his alma mater.
The Players: Sophomore Hannah Toresdahl leads the Quakers with an average over just over 89 strokes per round. Fellow sophomore Aaron Monroe cards rounds of 91.65 strokes while sophomore Emma Wilkins and freshman Megan Garner are also in the 90s for round average.
