RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College women's golf team travels to Hanover College for the Hanover Invitational this weekend.
The Teams: Earlham, which won the Beaver Fall Classic last weekend, will be joined by Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) members Franklin College, Manchester University, Mount St. Joseph University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and host Hanover. Indiana University Kokomo, Spalding University and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College represent the non-HCAC contingent at the invitational.
The Courses: The two-day invitational will be played at two different courses. On Saturday, the teams will compete at Sunrise Falls Golf Course playing at a yardage of 5,806. The final round will be played on Sunday at Shadowood Golf Course with a distance of 5,817 yards.
The Coach: Earlham is under the direction of second-year head coach Matt Gehring. A graduate of Defiance College, Gehring spent the previous four seasons as head women's golf coach and assistant men's golf coach at his alma mater.
The Players: Sophomore Aaron Monroe led the way with consecutive rounds of 91 to earn medalist honors at the Beaver Fall Classic last weekend. Fellow sophomore Hannah Toresdahl carded a round of 89 last weekend while sophomore Emma Wilkins shot a career-low round of 90 in the first round of the Beaver Fall Classic.
