GAME NOTES - HANOVER

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's basketball team hosts Hanover College in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) game at Schuckman Court at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The Teams: Earlham and Hanover. The Quakers are in search of their first win after falling to Transylvania University Wednesday evening. The Panthers are 5-7 overall and 3-2 in conference after a 68-42 loss to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Wednesday.

The Coaches: Janel Iden is his her fifth season with the Earlham women's basketball program including her second as head coach. She previously served the program as acting head coach for the 2014-15 season and an assistant coach for the two years prior. Before arriving at Earlham, Iden spent three years as an assistant coach at Mount Union. The Purple Raiders went 80-11 and appeared in three NCAA Division III Tournaments during that time. John Jones enters his 13thd season on the Hanover sidelines including his second as head coach.

The Players: Senior Hannah Franklin (12.1 PPG) and freshman Shannon Pittman (10.3 PPG) both average over 10 points per game to lead the Quakers offensively. Beyond that, junior Mariah Flynn and freshman Camryn White both score over five points per game. The senior post combination of Maya Luney and Shania Feathers grab 10 rebounds per game. Franklin leads the squad in assists at 2.6 per game. Allison Nash leads the Panthers offensively scoring nearly 11 points per game. Maleha Matter scored 8.7 points per game and tallies 6.9 rebounds per game to lead Hanover on the boards.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Earlham 55.1, Hanover 68.4; opponents' points per game – Earlham 72.8, Hanover 76.2; field goal percentage – Earlham 35.7, Hanover 37.7: three-point percentage – Earlham 27.1, Hanover 25.7; rebounds per game – Earlham 36.8, Hanover 39.7.

2015-16 Matchups: Both teams won at home last season. Hanover come from behind to defeat Earlham 80-78 while the Quakers defeated the Panthers 85-73, marking the first win for Earlham over Hanover since Dec. of 2005.

Recent History: Earlham has one win over Hanover since joining the HCAC prior to the 2010-11 season. That win came last season in Richmond.
