Track and Field Places Four on All-HCAC Outdoor Track and Field Teams

GREENWOOD, Indiana – Four individuals represented the Earlham College track and field team's contingent on the All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Outdoor Track and Field teams, released by the conference on Thursday.

On the women's side, seniors Hannah Franklin and Sophia Richard garnered Second Team All-HCAC honors. Franklin finished in the top eight of both hurdle events including a second place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (1:06.39) and a seventh place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (17.04). Richard took second place in the javelin with a hurl of 109' 2". Additionally, both Franklin and Richard ran in the Quakers' 4-x-400-meter relay team that took fourth place.

Junior Annalee Wilson earned a spot on the Honorable Mention All-HCAC team by tying for third place in the pole vault. Freshman Shabnam Fayyaz was named to the HCAC All-Sportsmanship team.

On the men's side, senior Gabriel Penk took home Honorable Mention All-HCAC honors after placing in the top eight in two events. Penk took third in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 32:37.99 while crossing the finish line sixth in the 5,000-meter run (15:46.16). Sophomore Treylon Anderson was named to the HCAC All-Sportsmanship team.

The Earlham women finished sixth and the men took eighth place at the HCAC Outdoor Championships.
