RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College track and field team will race at the Indiana Division III Championships hosted by DePauw University on Saturday.
The Meet: Field event are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. followed by track events at approximately 1 p.m.
The Coaches: Earlham is led by a pair of first-year, co-head coaches. Claire Hewitt comes to Earlham from the University of Pennsylvania where she served as an assistant women's cross country coach while her husband Rob had been a high school cross country and track & field coach at national powerhouse Germantown Friends High School (Pa.) since 2004.
Women to Watch: Junior Annalee Wilson, who broke her own indoor pole vault program-best mark with a jump of 10' 1 ½" at the College of Wooster, will jump in the event at 2 p.m. Senior Sophia Richard will throw in both the javelin and discus. Sophomore Rachel Wilkins, the HCAC's current leading in the 1,500-meter run, will compete as a member of the Quakers' 4-x-400-meter relay team after winning two events at Franklin College last weekend. Senior Hannah Franklin will join Wilkins on the relay squad along with running in the 100 and 400-meter hurdles.
Men's To Watch: Junior Marcaus Cooper, who placed second in the conference in the triple jump as a sophomore in 2016, will compete in the event at 1 p.m. on Saturday along with appearances in the 200-meter dash and the 4-x-100-meter relay squad. Senior Gabriel Penk will race in the 5,000-meter run.
