Richard and Penk Lead Track & Field's Performance at Day One of Wooster Invitational

DAY ONE RESULTS

WOOSTER, Ohio – Seniors Sophia Richard and Gabriel Penk scored in events for the Earlham College track and field team on day one of the Wooster Invitational on Friday evening.

Richard placed third in the Women's Javelin Throw with a heave of 91' 8" to begin her senior outdoor track and field season. Nicole Pilewski of John Carroll University won the event with a throw of 108' 11".

Penk placed fourth in the Men's 5,000-Meter Run, finishing the race in 15:32.26 while setting a new personal best by over 22 seconds. In addition, Penk was the top NCAA Division III finishes as two runners from Walsh University and one from Ashland University, both NCAA Division II institutions, placed ahead of Penk.

Day two of competition begins at 11 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday).
