RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College track and field team travels to the DePauw Small College Invite this Friday.
The Meet: Running events will begin at approximately 6 p.m. with several Quakers appearing in field events beginning at 7 p.m.
The Coaches: Earlham is led by a pair of first-year, co-head coaches. Claire Hewitt comes to Earlham from the University of Pennsylvania where she served as an assistant women's cross country coach while her husband Rob had been a high school cross country and track & field coach at national powerhouse Germantown Friends High School (Pa.) since 2004.
Women to Watch: Sophomore Rachel Wilkins, an All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) selection in cross country this past fall, is seeded first in the Mile Run with a time of 5:25.00. She is also seeded fifth in the 400-Meter Dash. Junior Annalee Wilson is seeded third in the Pole Vault.
Men's To Watch: Senior Gabriel Penk, an All-HCAC selection in cross country, is seeded first in teh 3,000-Meter Run with a time of 8:50.00. The Portland, Oregon native will compete against five runners from DePauw University and a Hanover College runner. Junior Marcaus Cooper, who finished second in the HCAC in the Triple Jump both indoor and outdoor last season, will compete in the event.
