RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College indoor track & field team opens its season at the University of Indianapolis Season Opener hosted by UIndy on Saturday.
The Meet: The season-opener will begin at approximately 4 p.m. The majority of the Quakers competing will be racing in the 60-Meter Dash and 200-Meter Dash.
The Coaches: Earlham is led by a pair of first-year, co-head coaches. Claire Hewitt comes to Earlham from the University of Pennsylvania where she served as an assistant women's cross country coach while her husband Rob had been a high school cross country and track & field coach at national powerhouse Germantown Friends High School (Pa.) since 2004.
Women to Watch: Sophomore Aishat Sadiq, who finished second at the 2016 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Outdoor Championships in both the 100-Meter Dash and 200-Meter Dash, will compete in both the 60-Meter Dash and 200-Meter Dash in Indianapolis. Junior Annalee Wilson along with 11 other Quakers will also run in both sprints.
Men's To Watch: Junior Marcaus Cooper will compete in the 60-Meter Dash and Triple Jump events. He was named Second Team All-HCAC in both indoor and outdoor track & field in the Triple Jump. Six other Quakers will join Cooper in the 60-Meter Dash while seven Earlham sprinters will run in the 200-Meter Dash.
