GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Earlham College first year Emanuel Faria (Atlanta, Ga./Druid Hills) put himself into the Quaker record books when he set a new school record in the 600m, to highlight Saturday's results for Earlham men's track and field at the DePauw University Indoor Invitational on Saturday at the Hollensteiner Track.
Faria finished third overall in the 600m with a time of 1:26.83, eclipsing the previous mark of 1:27.38 held by Sean Crosson.
Faria helped the Quakers pick up additional points by running the leadoff leg for Earlham's 4 x 400m team, which finished fourth overall with a time of 3:35.68. Joining Faria on the 4 x 400 squad was Nate Papachristos (North Plainfield, N.J./Union Catholic), Michael Grady (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich./Grosse Pointe South), and Ian Shriner (Portland, Ore./U.S. Grant).
Papachristos turned in a fourth-place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:01.98, and Noah Scherf (Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City) was 14th in a crowded field in the Mile Run with a time of 4:39.16.
The Quakers finished 11th out of 14 teams in the field at the DePauw Indoor Invite with 16 points. Wabash won the meet with 119 points, narrowly edging out Rose-Hulman in second place with 115 points.
