COLUMBUS, Ohio – Nate Papachristos (North Plainfield, N.J./Union Catholic) and Ian Shriner (Portland, Ore./U.S. Grant) were the top Earlham College men's track performers at the Capital University Jessica Starks Open, held Saturday at the Capital Field House.
Papachristos, a first year runner, finished fifth in the Mile Run with a time of 4:33.88, the fastest time by an Earlham runner in the event this season. Noah Scherf (Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City) finished 13th overall in the Mile, posting a time of 4:44.26.
Shriner, also a first year, clocked a time of 2:05.87 in the 800m run, besting his previous collegiate personal best by .10 of a second.
In the 400m dash, first year Emanuel Faria (Atlanta, Ga./Druid Hills) ran to a 13th place finish with a time of 55.08 seconds.
Earlham men's track will travel to DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., next Friday, Feb . 2, to compete in the Tiger Small College Invitational.
