RICHMOND, Ind. – The incoming freshman class for Earlham men's tennis checked in at no. 24 among the top recruiting classes in Division III for fall 2018, according to rankings released earlier this week by the website TennisRecruiting.net.

Joining Earlham men's tennis for 2018 will be Aitor Herrera and Nikolaos Trikkaspsomas from Greece; Coby Maisel from Australia; Gordian Bruns from Germany; and Elijah Sadler from Troy, Ohio.

The Quakers are the only Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference program or Division III program in Indiana included among the top 25 and are one of only three programs from the Ohio-Indiana-Illinois region.

The University of Chicago out of the University Athletic Association (UAA) was picked to have the top incoming freshman class in Division III men's tennis and was one of six UAA schools in the ranking along with No. 3 Emory, No. 5 Washington University (Mo.), No. 7 Brandeis, and No. 8 Carnegie Mellon. Six other institutions were from the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), with three programs each from the Centennial Conference and the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).

Earlham finished its 2017-18 season with a 20-5 overall mark, setting a new program record for wins. The Quakers reached the championship match of the 2018 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Tournament for the second straight year and the seventh time over the last eight seasons.
