Men's tennis blanks Defiance for 11th straight win

DEFIANCE, Ohio – A sweep of all three doubles matches and six singles matches propelled  Earlham College men's tennis to a 9-0 sweep over Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Defiance College, Wednesday afternoon at the E. Stevens Dix Tennis Facility.

The win was the 11th straight victory for Earlham men's tennis, and improved the Quakers' record to 16-3 overall, 3-0 in the HCAC.

Highlighting the day's result was Vitalii Stadnyk's 6-2, 6-2 triumph at no. 1 singles over Defiance's Adam Swisher, giving Stadnyk his 71st career victory and tying the Earlham record for career singles wins.

Brandon Giordanelli and Hyunseong Ahn posted the match's most decisive win in doubles with their 8-0 victory over Ring Lardner and Micaiah Cox at no. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Voja Tatarevic (no. 2), Joaquin Lerner (no. 5), and Ahn (no. 6) all won their matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores.

Earlham men's tennis returns to action on Saturday, April 21, when the Quakers travel to Franklin, Ind., to face Franklin College.
