OBERLIN, Ohio – The men's team concluded a weekend of play at the Oberlin Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The tournament was round-robin style, where each individual played three singles and three doubles matches over the course of two days.
The Quakers saw success in singles across the board. Freshman Brandon Giordanelli and sophomore Karun Rathi went a perfect 3-0 over the course of the weekend against competitors from Denison, Wooster, Ohio Northern and Baldwin Wallace. Senior Vitalii Stadnyk and sophomores Joaquin Lerner and Jason Lawson all went 2-1 in singles play.
The team of Lerner and Lawson had the best record of all Earlham doubles teams going 2-1 and notching wins over Ohio Northern and John Carroll. Giordanelli and sophomore Fernando Bulnes Aramburu picked up a win over Kenyon's pair of Hudnut and Mauviel. Rathi and sophomore Adarsh Singh paired to bring in the Quakers final doubles win over Wooster.
Earlham will spend the next two weeks preparing for the Central Regional ITA Tournament in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The tournament is scheduled to begin Saturday, October 30.
