Stadnyk Named HCAC Men's Tennis MVP For Third Time

GREENWOOD, Indiana – Vitalii Stadnyk earned his third consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Men's Tennis Most Valuable Player Award as the junior highlighted the Earlham College men's tennis team's contingent on the All-HCAC teams announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Stadnyk was one of four Quakers to be named First Team All-HCAC. Junior Vojislav Tatarevic, freshman Aleksandr Sergeev, and Fernando Bulnes Aramburu also garnered First Team All-HCAC honors.

Stadnyk finished 18-4 playing first singles and 18-9 playing first doubles. He lost just one HCAC singles match this season (to Landon Carrico of Hanover) and sits fourth in program history in career singles victories with 51.

Tatarevic spent part of the season playing with Stadnyk at first doubles while also competing at third doubles. He finished with 15 doubles victories and 12 singles victories with all but one coming at fifth singles.

Bulnes Aramburu and Sergeev played third and fourth singles respectively. Both finished with over 15 singles wins.

Sophomore Nicola Manni was named Honorable Mention All-HCAC after finishing 11-1 in singles and 13-3 in doubles. Junior Adam Schwartz was named to the HCAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Earlham finished its 2016-17 season with an 18-7 overall record and 7-1 conference mark. The Quakers concluded their season with a runner-up finish in the HCAC Tournament.
