Men's Tennis Sweeps Transylvania for Third Consecutive HCAC Win

LEXINGTON, Kentucky – The Earlham College men's tennis team improved to a perfect 3-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play with a 9-0 sweep of Transylvania University on Wednesday afternoon.

Juniors Vitalii Stadnyk and Vojislav Tatarevic as well as sophomore Nicola Manni and freshman Aleksandr Sergeev won their first and second doubles matches respectively both by scores of 8-2. Freshmen Joaquin Lerner and Jason Lawson blanked J.T. Henderson and Daniel Cooper 8-0 at third doubles.

Sergeev and Lerner won their fourth and sixth singles matches without dropping a single game. Sophomore Adarsh Singh defeated Eli Hack 6-1, 6-1 at second doubles while freshman Fernando Bulnes Aramburu lost just one game in his third singles win over Eric Sandknop.

Stadnyk lost four games in a 6-2, 6-2 win over Luke Groene at first singles while Manni won his fifth singles match 6-3, 6-2.

The Quakers, who have won six straight games, host Anderson University and Berea College in a tri-match at Earlham on Saturday.
